Same deal Stone did with "Bourbon Barrel Aged Arrogant Bastard..." And it wasn't worth the price of 4 beers. No bourbon IMO.

I'd love to try it and I've seen the 4pk selling for $14.99 which is an incredible deal for 4 bombers, but I'm going to pass. I'm just not fan of English-styles brews. Wookey Jack is good, but I have no desire to drink an entire bomber of it; it's another style I'm not that in to. All that and I have my doubts that Mocha Merlin will be all that terribly mind-blowing.

Picked up a bundle today just to try the Velvet Mocha Merlin, I would prefer it alone but the other beers I really enjoy and I will be trying Wookey Jack for the first time.

Really guys? We're complaining about essentially getting free beer? I don't remember this much cynicism over Stone's Bastard 4pk. One minute you complain there are too many dusty FSW bottles on shelves, the next you groan over receiving several fresher bottles for next to nothing? You expect to find bottles of the vintage releases, but won't even give the flagship series a fair shake? This isn't how it works, boys.

Actually yes, if you don't like IPAs.

What trader joes has this!? It sounds delicious and it should be but it's got a really low abv. It should be criminal for stouts to be under 7.

I had this on Thursday night and am sad to say that it was my last favorite in the box. It's really, really thin (even though it leaves a funky film in your mouth) and the intelligentsia coffee, surprisingly, doesn't really pop.

That's all right, though. Win some, lose some. Firestone Walker rocks.

While I love all of the special release brews that FW puts out I find their everyday offerings to be merely average.
Regardless this is a lousy attempt to force consumers to purchase three beers that they may or may not want in order to get one that they specifically desire.

    Holy god that looks amazing!

And @EricTKole I have to disagree; I find the three regular offerings in that pack to be stellar. Wookie Jack is my favorite black IPA; DBA is smooth and delicious (although a much more delicate beer than most BAs prefer, as it's not hopped to high heaven); and Union Jack, when fresh, is a delicious, straightforward, and well-regarded IPA.

I wish more brewers put out something mild and well-crafted like DBA, really. And I'm never disappointed to find the Wookie on tap. YMMV, though, I get that.

There are plenty of solid lighter and crisp craft offerings. I'm sorry but I almost drain poured the first Wookey I ever had. We all have our own tastes. Please don't take offense. I've seen many a guys and gals bang on beers I love.

Yeah... so, FW makes a specialty version of a beer (which they didn't have to do), and packages it with 1) a beer frequently cited as the gold standard for CDAs, 2) an IPA in the top 50 of a crowded (and hype-prone) style, and 3) an English IPA in the top 25 of that style, and it's "lousy"? I actually do take offense, when the ranks of those other three beers are 2, 45, and 20 respectively, and FW wasn't obligated to offer the Merlin variant in the first place. If Founders put out a beer identical to Velvet Mocha Merlin, people would be happy to spend $10 on it alone, but when FW puts it in a box with three other world class beers for $16, they're "forcing" people to buy beers they don't want? Seriously, this attitude (and it's not just @EricTKole by any means) has to stop. If you don't want those other three, don't buy the box. [/rant]

That's the same reasoning as me! I haven't yet tried Wookey Jack so I'm stoked on this.

Marketing must have come up with this one.

Stop being a homer. Plenty of people abuse my home/favorite brewery's beer which happens to be Founders. And you're wrong, people wouldn't pay $10 for a 12oz. Founders brew, hell they bitch about paying $5 for KBS. Sometimes it's hard to look at things objectively. Like I previously stated plenty of people bang on beers that I love. It's cool and it's something we all have to get used to.
At the end of the day I'd be upset if I was forced to buy 3 Founders shelfies to get a variant(correct, one that I didn't ask them to make) that I wanted. If you can't look at this package objectively and see that the marketing department is blatantly ripping you off then I'm sorry.
One more thing you're right, I won't buy this box. /rant

It's not 12oz, it's 22oz. And they're only ripping me off if I 1) don't like the other three beers but 2) buy the box anyway. Instead, I like all three "shelf" beers, and basically got those plus VMM free with this box. I bet if Founders came out with a beer you really wanted but they stuck it in a box where you didn't want the others, you'd figure something out instead of bitching on BA about Founders' marketing dept. This idea that anyone's forcing anyone to do anything is confounding.

Nope again you're wrong. I live 5 min form the taproom so I'd go get it on draft. Like I do with almost all of their brews. Thanks again for pointing out your......
I'm not sure what you studied in school, but the fact remains that since you have to buy a box that includes 4 different brews and in my case(buying motive being only wanting one of them) I am "forced to buy 3 brews I don't want to get one I do. Come on is that really that hard to see???

So in other words, if you ignore the premise (that the beer is only available in the box), you win. Congrats.

Not sure what that has to do with anything (ad hominem much?), but I do know that where I went to school, we had a saying; it went something along the lines of Muck Fichigan.

All I see is your sense of entitlement. Sometimes brewers release beers that are substandard, or overpriced, or packaged with other (again, world-class) beers. Guessing none of that is meant as a personal insult to @EricTKole. Too bad you seem not to know any BAs locally who would appreciate some fresh FW beers (much fresher than they can usually be found out east, anyway); if I were there, I'd buy the box and give you the Merlin for free just to get you to shut up.

What's the price on these? And are they just 12oz bottles?

They're 22 ounce bombers, I paid $18.99 for mine but I'm pretty sure it can be found for less. It's a good deal I love Union Jack and DBA, and the other two beers are new for me.
