Anyone else tried this yet? I love black IPAs, rye IPAs, and Citra and Amarillo are my two favorite hops, it's like they made this beer just for me. Fantastic beer

It's delicious! Gonna give mountain standard a run for its money.

It is very good, personally I enjoy Mountain Standard more, but it's pretty tasty!

I just enjoyed the rye spice and the clean slightly bitter finish. MS is a little rough around the edges to me. either way they are both awesome.

I was excited to try this one, with high hopes. For me, Mountain Standard is better.

I loved the hops, and I liked the rye all right, but the two together didn't work for me. I feel like it was two different beers trying to be one - not well integrated. In my book, a rare miss for Firestone Walker, but the reviews are all great so I'm clearly in the minority. In other news, cannot WAIT for Solace to hit again, though.

Actualy never had Solace. But love every beer i have had by FW... IS it anything like Gumballhead or Little Sumpin Sumpin?

Guess i should say i hate wheat beers in general. But Gumballhead is awesome and doesn't drink like a wheat to me. See they Have Easy Street wheat as a American pale wheat also and i can't stand it.

I haven't had Gumballhead, but Solace is not very much like Little Sumpin Sumpin - way more of a focus on the yeast than any hop character. It's got so much body and flavor for a wit, you really won't know what to do with yourself. I like stuff like Boulevard Zon and Allagash White, too, but this is like those two on steroids. For my money, it's the best of the style in the Rocky Mountain market.

Solace is nothing like Gumballhead, which is the hoppiest wheat I've ever sampled (and I loved it). Solace has a more hefeweizen feel to it. Both are good, just different.

I bought a bottle of Solace last year, thinking it was an unfiltered pale ale (it doesn't say on the bottle that it's a wheat beer). I poured it too warm, and was shocked when I tasted it. I'm not a wheat beer lover, so I had to toss it after drinking a few ounces. I might try it again, knowing what it's going to be. But I have a feeling that if you don't really like wheat beers, you won't like this one.
