Tried Wookie last night, was rather impressed! In the top 3 of BIPA's I've had...and I've had a LOT. Good idea in general, but I think that style was a real fad EVERYONE jumped onto and really shouldn't have

Drank my Wookey earlier, and I too am impressed. Has a great balance of the intended flavors and nose. I think this beer was well thought out and FW does a great job with it. When I get Double Jack, Wookey will be joining it!

Tried it last night as well. Fantastic beer and almost perfectly balanced, I think.

Holy shit, I thought I didn't like black Ipa's. Then I opened a bottle of this 20 minutes ago and smelled it. This is one good beer. I had a bottle of Pliny last week, which was really good, but I think this is better. Gonna have to get me some more. I'm so glad we get Firestone in colorado.

Ok. Having it now!! Excellent. Think I like it over mountain standard and my new fave black ipa. I have yet to have a bad beer From Firestone Walker!

    Cheers

Any places that still have Wookey Jack?

Big fan of Mountain Standard, Self-Righteous, Hop in the Dark, and Tommy Knocker's Hop Strike

Yeah sounds like we all agree, Mountain Standard, Wookie Jack, (Trout Hop?) are some top tier hoppy black ales.

Saw it at Total Beverage in Westminster yesterday. I also picked up a 4 pack of Mountain Standard down in Denver.

Is Wookey going to be a regular in their Reserve series, or is this just a spring-time release? I couldn't tell from the website.

Liked it so much the other night i had to go get another one last night:grinning:

I've never heard or have had Hop Strike or Trout Hop.

A Black IPA that i think severely gets over looked is Uinta Dubhe... Its Fantastic IMO

I was thinking of picking up a 6 of the Hop Strike. Went on the TK site and saw its brewed with Summit hops:slight_frown:

I've had Hop Strike, it was OK, but had a bit of a burnt popcorn taste to it that I didn't like
