Firestone Walker Wookey Jack

Stopped by a small liquor store in Firestone today, 3 Rocks Liquors, and they had a few bottles, as well as three bottles of Uncle Jacob's. This was about an hour ago.

 

why you giving up my store? They get some pretty good shit, they still have 3 bottles of Pearl Jam Faithful ale. Last month they had Tactical Nuclear Pengiun, Sink the Bismark and FW XV...

 

They still had the Pearl Jam Faithful. I picked up the supposedly last Parabola there, hence I didn't post it on the Parabola thread. That store has some nice beer, and some harder to find beers from time to time.

 

yeah i never worry about getting beers soon as they come out. Was at a place yesterday with easilly a case of UJ on the shelf and another with 6+ Sucaba still.. So i know Parabola will be no problem to get

 

Also had another really good Black IPA tonight. Ruhstaller "The Captain"

 

Really disliked this beer. Hard to compare to others like mountain standard since one is a serious rye beer. The alcohol and hops and rye formed a really unpleasant flavor for me. I agree hop strike would be the closest comparable and that beer was much tastier for me

 

I quite enjoyed my bottle over the weekend.

 

A fresh batch of Wookey Jack has hit. Bottled 6/20

 

Wookey is damn good. Had it on tap at Oskar blues last night. Really don't get hop strike being closest comparable since they have 2 totally different Hop profiles. Isn't Strike brewed with Summit hops?
