    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has seen this beer in the Philadelphia area?

    Thanks,
    John

Not sure if we want to separate, but if anyone sees it in NY I'd love heads up (NJ will be later).

It's in North Jersey now. I've seen it at a few places but priced at $12.99 for a 12oz bottle I passed. I remember a few years ago being able to get Firestone's vintage series for $13-15 for a 22oz bottle. Not sure how pricing got so crazy moving everything to 12ozs. Maybe they should quit doing the fancy boxes and save everyone a dollar

I like the new format because I don’t have to share bottles but the pricing could use some work. At least it’s not at Prairie levels yet...

The whole reserve series is 12oz which is a real drag. I even passed on Parabola this year even though I could have bought it at 3 or 4 other places. It used to be a beer you had to ask for now it sits on the shelves, at least in NY. Not a coincidence considering the size and the price.

In the 22 oz. format the boxes looked classy. Now they just look weird.

The truck was delayed, getting to the wholesaler mid next week and should be released the following Monday.

Ever since the smaller bottle vintages I’ve been able to get one of each. Love that they changed it to spread it out more. Yea a bit more pricey but only getting one bottle it’s cool with me.

Getting the beer in a 12oz bottle is better than not getting it at all, which is what often happened when it was in bigger bottles.

Agree on this, but much prefer 12 ounce bottles. 22 is way too much, I have 7 or 8 bottles of various Anni and Parabola I never seem to get to because too much beer at high abv.

If the 22oz bottles were priced as high per ounce as the 12ozs are currently, they would have sat on shelves and been easier to get too. Part of the reason these are sitting compared to before is the higher cost.

What were you paying for 22s? Here in nyc, when they were available it was $20-25 which isn’t that much higher...

Im pretty sure Whole Foods sold them for less than $20. They're selling the smaller bottles for $14 now.

The 22oz bottles were not much more expensive than these newer 12oz bottles. I think the last bottle of Parabola '16 I paid like $17. So, you're telling me I'm paying 4 less dollars to get 10oz less beer, um, no.

Yup. I've paid anywhere from $14-17 for Parabola, Sucaba, Anniversary, etc. in NJ. Usually the issue is that bombers cost more per ounce than 4/6 packs (which I also never understood). But somehow, Firestone is actually charging more for the smaller format and it seems like they're the only brewery to be doing that.

Y’all are right, I was thinking the bombers were more than $20 but I think that was just from an expensive shop once. I do recall that Parabola was the only bottle WF has had at $14 dollars though.

I'm fine with the format change it means I can actually find any FW Reserve Series beers on shelves near me (as well as preferring the smaller serving size). While I've never actively searched for them before, they have been on my radar, but I don't recall ever seeing those "classy" boxes anywhere. I'd pay the price to try Sucaba at least.
