Has anyone been having trouble finding FW products on the south shore? I can't find anything and my salesman from knife says they haven't been getting any. Something going on at the brewery? Or typical meeting demand problems?

I believe it it the typical demand problems. The a just creeping into the northeast and since we're new we are at the bottom of the trickle down effect. There is a few places that still have some beers. I know of one that is sitting on stock of FW 15.

They've been very sporadic since coming into the state a year ago. We've also consistently seen the boxed releases a month or two after the rest of the country. No idea why this is...

FW15 is definitely still on plenty of shelves, but yeah, six months ago the Porter and Double Jack were all over the place - I haven't seen them nearly as much recently.

california is far from ma. i'm sure they send a full truckload of beer every couple of months. we get the boxed releases on the next scheduled truck after their release.

Yeah, but for example, NY and a few other eastern states got Sucaba a month ago. There's got to be more than just distance to it. Seemed to be the same thing with Parabola and FW15 too.

if you apply the same logic to ny, it was most likely due to them getting a full truckload.

I guess I'm not following... Why would NY, NJ, VA, and MD all consistently get their FW beers a month before MA? I mean, it obviously happens, so there is a reason for it, but I don't understand how the distance has that much impact on it when those states aren't much different distances.

the point i was trying to make about distance is that they are not going to ship a small order of just specialty products across the country. they are going to wait until additional inventory of the more regular items are needed and put the specialty items on that order to fill an entire truckload. in the beer industry, well any industry really, you don't ship partial trucks. you fill them. a truckload amounts to 22 pallets of beer. it may just be that ny & nj and md & va get trucks more regularly because their combined markets sell more beer than ma.

Well there was a bit of a backlash with Double Jack being on the shelf too long, perhaps they are just being careful and sending stuff less frequently. That being said, I have no idea why the annual releases take so long to get here.

Got it - thank makes sense - thanks.

Though I'm surprised they wouldn't have freshness concerns with "holding back". It doesn't matter much for the boxed releases I suppose, but I hope they wouldn't do it with their regular releases...

If it hit anywhere in the state yet, this would be the first I've heard of it. In fact I think it came up in a thread last week and nobody reporting anything...

??? After the hubbub back in December I saw the shelves around me wiped clear of FW product until fresher bottles arrived.

I noticed it too. Funny how a bit of good ol' Internet bitching actually does accomplish things sometimes...

And FW was legitimately pissed that it was going down. I wouldn't be surprised if they bottlenecked the supply chain to prevent it from happening again.
