Casting my vote already for Lift Bridge's Manhattan Barrel Project as the Golden Firkin winner this year. Already had to go back for seconds.

7 was a strong as well as the Brett Saison , I felt the manhattan barrel project by lift bridge was hot and would benefit from some age. The indeed ipa was great as were both Odell and kind of surprisingly tallgrass's showings. In the battle of peeps flavored beer, badger hill beat out 3rd street.

Did anyone find out who the supposed charity recipients were, as posted earlier in this thread?
I only got crickets when I asked earlier.

    *crickets*
They had it clearly stated last year that it was for charity, no such info this time. I would guess that either their PR is lacking or more likely this year was not for charity.

Odell Lugene Chocolate Milk Stout with Coconut and Almond - "The Almond Joy"
Shell's Stag Series #7 Barley Wine aged on ash
Summit Oatmeal Stout aged in 2 Ginger's barrels
    Surly Brett Saison
    Surly Overrated West Coast IPA
    Surly Seven
    Surly Diminished Seven
Tallgrass Irish Coffee Sweat - Buffalo Sweat aged on Jameson Oak Spires with Cold-Press Coffee

My favorite brewery overall was Lift Bridge, my top 3 beers were...

    3) Tallgrass Irish Coffee Sweat - Buffalo Sweat is a decent beer, this made it awesome.

    2) Odell Lugene Chocolate Milk Stout with Coconut and Almond - Lugene is already a great beer, this was even better. Loved the coconut finish.

    1) Schell's Stag Series #7 Barley Wine aged on Ash - This beer was so damn good. And without really resorting to gimmicks.

Overall, I had a good time. But the noise level was a little crazy. I almost wished they didn't have a tent, would have been much easier on the ears.

Yeah if it was for charity last year, I can see how it was mistaken that it was again this year.
I was just curious, as I might've went had I been a proponent of a good cause.
As it was - the $50 was just too steep for me.
Would've been nice to have tried some of those beers though.

I casted my vote for the lift bridge manhattan barrel project, but down and dirty in rye whiskey barrels was a close second.

Manhatten Barrel Project was really nice. Oddly enough, the Imperial Grain Belt was hilariously awesome. The variety and quality of beer overall was outstanding.

Lift Bridge Manhattan Barrel Project sounds a lot like Brooklyn Manhattan Project. Lift Bridge better hope Brooklyn Brewery doesn't sue them over trademark infringement.
