First Bar Beer

...followed by much liquor. At some point that night my buddy ordered me a Bud Light. I remember peeking at it with one eye barely open, and pushing it across the table. Never have liked Bud Light.

Dont remember much else about that night

My first experience sucked. I paid for my own beer on my birthday and I think it was a coors light because I was low on money. Small chance it was a Boston Lager though.

 

Sierra Nevada, with a fake ID, when I was 17, at Buffalo Wild Wings.

 

A Budweiser... Dive bar, underage, watching some hipster show probably :-\ A lot has changed since 19...

Polar from Venezuela. I went on vacation there in the 10th grade, back when Venezuela was a decent place to vacation. My brother and I walked into town and grabbed a beer at a local bar. awesome.

 

Not sure since this was back in 1974. Maybe a PBR at the Red Baron (NJ) during happy hour on a Wednesday or Sunday night. Or maybe a pitcher of BMC (PBR?) at William Paterson College while playing spades (greatest card game ever!) on a Thursday night!

 

That's cool, I take it you mean Norrlands Guld? It's quite the tasty Export lager imo.

 

It would be a fools errand for me to try to think of the first beer I've ever bought at a bar. Is that really something people remember? Doesn't really seem milestone worthy.

Bud Light. Friend bought it for me and I didn't know any better. It was a bikini bar, so I don't expect they had much in the way of good beers, maybe Boston Lager.

 

The first beer at a bar I bought was in some bar in Potsdam NY while I was looking at Clarkson University when I was a junior in high school (pretty sure I was 16). It was happy hour, so it was whatever swill they were pouring for 10 cents a cup. I bought and drank 20 of them. We were nursing our last beers after happy hour was finished when the bartender came over and asked if we had ID's. Nope. He said "well finish up your beers and get the hell out of here".

My first store purchase was when I was 17. I changed the year on my nys license from 1969 to 1965 with chalk and a pencil. I bought a Matt's premium beer ball for me and my friends from a supermarket.

My first legal beer purchase was at some backroad hick bar near where I lived in upstate NY on my 21st birthday. Skipped classes that day, drank Gennessee and played pool with some friends all afternoon. Good times.

 

DOS XX. I was so interesting back then.

 

I honestly don't remember, I was so bombed by the time I officially turned 21 at midnight. (Back then you could be 18 and still get in to bars in Kansas).

The first bar beer I consciously remember legally buying was a Guinness a few days later.

 

McMenamins Ruby Ale. Basically a raspberry fruit ale. Not a sour, more like Pyramids Apricot Ale, but with raspberries, obviously.
