1971, I was a 14 year old exchange student in San Salvador, El Salvador. It was just called Pilsner, served "bien fria" which really meant room temp. It was a nickel a bottle, or you could get a pitcher for 20 cents. And of course it was always served with a small cup of seviche, a bowlful came with the pitcher.

I was 17 and on a school trip to Glastonbury, England. We walked into a pub and very nervously pointed to a tap to order a pint of beer, not knowing what was going to happen. I always remember the Tap Label stating ESB. Years later, I realized my first Pub/Bar Beer was Fullers ESB. Not a bad start...

Really dating myself now but....year was 1961, (I was almost 16), the beer was a 10 cent Hudepohl draft that, at the time, tasted like heaven! The bar was Lenny's Cafe, and it was about the size of my living room. Strictly locals. Had many a beer there after that, and many a good time!

Hey, you're almost as old as I am. My first was at Frenchie's in Versailles, Ohio at age 16 in 1960 or 1961. They didn't say what was on tap, it was just whatever they had at the time, no choice, usually Miller, Stroh's or Weidemann, something like that. Small draft was 15 cents, regular size 25 cents, same for a bottle, which was served with a small glass about juice size. Custom was to pour the little glass full without making any head.
