I just finished off my first homebrew this weekend. I was pretty worried it was going to turnout horrible. My recipe called for 8 ounces of hops throughout the boil. For some reason I thought I needed to have the temp at 160 degrees instead of a rolling boil. Luckily my neighbor stopped by just at the end and told me I needed to get it at a higher temp. I only boiled the wort for 5 minutes. It took a while to cool down also. I use a garbage can and filled it with ice but the ice melted pretty fast so I ran down the road to get more. Then while cooling the wort i found two pieces of dog hair in it. I was seriously about to dump the batch and start over. Thank god I didn't. The IPA turned out great. Relax and have a homebrew I guess!
