I brewed up my first batch yesterday. It began fermenting (bubbling the airlock every 3 or 4 seconds) today. It's shut in a closet in a spare bedroom that stays shut. My question is - would it be OK to paint elsewhere inside the house while it is fermenting? I'd like to take advantage of the days off and get some interior walls painted, but not at the expense of my beer absorbing any paint smell/taste. It is well-sealed inside the fermenting bucket, but I wanted to ask to be sure. Someone may have done this before. Thanks!

Should be no problem at all. The air (actually CO2) is coming out of the beer-to-be, and won't get in, as long as the fermenter is indeed well-sealed.

As long as the beer is covered it will be ok. Cheers
BTW: What is the SRM of your paint? : )

If you're bubbling after one day on your first brew... welcome to the addiction :grinning:
