I got started into homebrewing and using basically the same set up with a few upgrades here and there. The essentials include a 1.) 3.5 gallon pot ( I used stainless steel but some guys use canning pots 2.) 1 5 Gallon bucket, you can get one with a lid and a hole with a rubber gasket at your local homebrew supply 3.) Siphoning hoses 4.) Beer & Wine Hydrometer for O.G & F.G so you can get ABV 5.) Bottle Capper & Caps 6.) Air lock 7.) your choice of sanitizer 8.) Bottles (Bought or recycle bottles from your favorite pop top brews) 9.) Brewers best starter kit from your local homebrew supply shop 10.) Thermometer 11.) Bottling wand ****Optional**** 12.) Charlie Papazian Complete joy of homebrewing 13.) Carboy glass or plasic your choice for secondary that helps with clarity if you go into a Local homebrew supply shop a lot of those guys are extremely passionate and always willing to help when you have questions. There is many different "Kits" out there ranging in cost just depending on how much you want to invest right away. I got a "Deluxe starter" kit for $130 that included everything I needed sans a pot. hope this helped! Good luck and happy brewing!!!
