First ever beer trade? Let's hear em

First trade was with @Justdoit1234 for I believe Clown Shoes Billionaire and some Surly beers. Think I sent him a variety of FFF beers and for sure a bottle or two broke and they delivered my box to him with literally no packaging materials left and smelling like stale beer. Luckily he was cool about it and worked with me to correct everything. I'd probably never have traded again and left the site had he called me out and embarrassed me.

 

My first trade was with @MasterSki and if I remember right it was some amount of Keegan Super Kitty for some amount of Dreadnaught. I think I might not have sent extras, and I think he loaded me up, which was a shaming lesson I learned and have never forgotten.

 

Haha I remember that trade well -- it was one of my first trades and if that ZD wasn't so damn good I might have given up trading all together myself! Man that box stunk! Luckily he was cool about it and sent replacements

Maybe a year and a half ago, a bog-standard Heady-for-Pliny trade. Went well, was easy, and no complaints.

 

Ha-ha agreed. I've always found them to be extremely cryptic, like I need a decoder ring to figure out what the hell's going on.

 

First trade was in October 2008. Traded a Nogne O Dark Horizon (Batch 1) for a Lost Abbey Cuvee de Tomme. That was over 150+ trades ago.

 

There are a lot of inside jokes for sure. It's basically exactly what you describe though, a beer secret santa. with each guy/gal trying to out-do the next. Just stop in the threads and introduce yourself. I've found it to be a much better experience than trading.

Two weeks ago-being from MA and surrounded by all the Ipa goodness, I had to make sure the emperor was wearing his clothes by trading for some Toppling Goliath Ipas. Long story short-TG brews some great IPAs, but I would be happy in a Tree House if any rouge Dinosaurs come my way. I will however, bow my head to a King called Sue.
