First ever beer trade? Let's hear em

My first beer trade here was:
Got: Regal Rye x2
Traded: Vlad vs Zombie vs Shark

 

First beer trade was here on BA with a very generous gentleman, @IowaPA. He had posted a ISO for a 6er of Anderson Valley Blood Orange Gose and I was more than happy to help him out with something easily accessible for myself. Got my first 4-pack of Founders Break Stout thanks to that trade! 5 or 6 trades and a couple years later, I have to say he is the best trade partner I've made and I make it my mission to send a box that will bring a smile to his face upon opening!

 

My first trade was almost exactly 4 years ago, in December, 2012. It was an international trade, although the circumstances meant that I did not have to ship internationally (an APO was involved).

I sent 2 years of BA Old Rasputin (2012 and 2011, whatever numbers those were) and received a sixer of Westy 12. Try doing that today! In addition, some of the extras included 2 years of Black Damnation, and I wasn't even required to ship first. Last but not least, I mentioned that I'd be interested in more Westy b/c my brother wanted to try some, and he sent me a second sixer for free! Again, good luck having that happen these days; I realize this was an amazing trader, but I am still often floored by what people want for just one bottle of Westy 12. I'm sad to say I only have one bottle left. I'm more sad to say that I was never able to repay the favor; I made an attempt at contact a couple of years back with no luck; perhaps it's time for another attempt.

That experience really molded how I approach trades, and I mean that in a positive way. he really helped me with the process, hooked me up, and was an exemplary BA all around, IMO. I couldn't have asked for a better first trade. It took a little bit after that before I really got into trading (and it ebbs and flows), but nearly all of my trades since then have been positive experiences.

 

My first trade I landed 3 cans of Heady for 2 bottles of KBS + a couple other locals . . . I was addicted to trading !! A couple days later I responded to a guy who was offering up 6 bottles of Pliny for something that was collecting dust at my local shop, he also through in a consecration as an extra . . . I was addicted to trading !!

 

I sent a mixed case of Heady, Sip, Super Session #2, and Second Fiddle for a mixed case of PseudoSue, Zombie Dust, and other TG hops. The crazy parts was that we were BOTH first time traders and didn't fully understand the Trading System. So...We really couldn't rely on each other for tips or guidance, which looking back on it, was definitely a risk. However, everything ended up well with happy traders on both sides.

 

Heady for Pliny. This used to be a standard the best of east coast hops for the best of west coast hops. Looking at the trade forum now makes me feel old

 

It was with @eyeenjoybeer. It was great. The guy didn't even make me send first, it was for a BCBS Rare and Vanilla I believe. He walked me through the process. 150 trades later you always remember your first.
