First-Ever Homebrew Help?

    You know, some batches just ferment slow. You've got bubbles, so just enjoy watching it bubble away. I remember the first time I heard a batch fizz - it really made me feel great. Enjoy!

    What type of vessel are you fermenting in? Some buckets don't seal real well and will result in less rigorous or no airlock activity, but the wort is still fermenting.

    We think that might be what it is. We're using a 2 gallon plastic bucket.

    What did the beer look like? Was there at any time a large fluffy pile of stuff atop the beer (krausen)?

    Yes, there was. It was brown; probably somewhere in the neighborhood around 20ish SRM.

    RKCHAHB.... just remember, have fun, you will make a mistake now and again but! No matter what just enjoy don't stress the bubbles.

    Well that's a relief. Judging from the quick smell I got of it, I was thinking it was doing okay. Oh well, what better way to learn than to make a few mistakes? Thanks everyone! Hopefully we'll be enjoying this within the next few weeks! Cheers!
