Ok so I am psyched about doing my first all grain 5 gallon batch on Sunday and I am looking for advice on my hop profile. I am going for APA and my ingredients are as follows:

10 lbs pale ale 2 row (breiss)
    1 lb caramel 60 L
1oz. Amarillo at 60 and here is where I need help I have 4 ounces of Falconers 7 Cs and I need suggestions on how much to use and times. I will not be dry hopping my first time.

I am also using wyest American ale

    I am hoping for 50 ibu and a 5-5.5 %

Are you trying to emulate a specific beer?
Are you looking for balance bitterness or big late additions?
Are you using a specific brewing calculator? I would recommend BrewCipher for if you do not have one. It's free and once you get it set up very easy and accurate I find. That way you can play around with specific additions and times and come out to an estimated IBU you're looking for.

Move the Amarillo to 30 min

    1oz 7C at 10 min
    1oz 7C at 5 min

chill to 170 then add 2oz 7C and hold for 15 min

    resume chilling
approx 50 ibu depending on boil size and boil length

Thanks guys, I was trying to do my own thing and I wasn't sure about Amarillo with Falconers 7 Cs I will look that link up. I am looking for a refreshing beer that has an early bit that has a nice smooth finish.

Sorry as I am just starting out and I am trying to learn.

BTW my LHBS told me not to worry so much about PH:grimacing: HUH

Would you use the 7 C at 60.

No. I would use nothing at 60 and use the hop schedule I posted. There are many variations that would work fine.
