Happy IPA Day! As I type this, I'm enjoying a Breckenridge 471 Small Batch. Great beer so far... definitely some sweet notes in it and it mellows out with a rise in temperature.d

As the title says... this is my first post on here. I think... I don't recall ever commenting/posting on BA prior to this, but I have had my account here for a while to search for beers and lurk amongst you all.

First let me say, that I've been a craft beer fan since about 2003/2004 when I moved to the Central Pennsylvania area and fell in love with Tröeg's Brewery in Harrisburg. It started with the weekend Growler fill and evolved into waking up at 4AM to get line for a chance to buy one of their Splinter series beers. Eventually when my wife and I purchased our home, it just so happened to be about two (2) miles away from Tröeg's brewery!

    Sadly,
Tröeg's moved to Hershey and I have since moved on from Harrisburg. However, the love of craft beers continue and I'm always wanting to explore new beers.

This leads me to actually making my first online purchase not from the brewery. In the past I have bought purchased beer and spirits from a brewery on the west coast.

It started with my buddies and I wanting to try both of the recent Stone collaborations, w00tstout and R&R Coconut IPA. Scouring all of our local bottle shops, we were unable to find any. Which led me to searching online and reading reviews here on BeerAdvocate.

Finally, I came across Beverages4Less based on several people having successful purchases, especially those on the east coast like me.

I emailed their order email account and within about an hour, I had a response from Fred. We went back and forth about the pricing and the way that it worked out was not any more (or less) than I had paid in the past for shipping. All told from my first email to the transaction and getting the tracking number from FedEx was less than a couple hours.

So far I'm completely satisfied with the purchase and we're all anxiously awaiting the beers.
In reading, I know there are some black eyes against the establishment... and I can understand some of the animosity. However people have to remember that on the east coast, we're not always privileged to get a lot of the great beer out of the west coast and Colorado. Just my opinion.

Look forward to sharing more experiences and participating in the forum...

    Cheers!

Welcome aboard! I've never bought beer on-line (and probably never will), but I'm also a long time Troegs fan. I first started picking it up when I was an OTR driver, and had a regular run to Hburg. You couldn't get Troegs more than 20-30 miles from the brewery (the old one on the North side of town), and I smuggled it home in the sleeper berth. Ah, back when! Cheers to Troegs and you!

Okay, a quick update... Fred did not let me down.

Great shipping, great packaging (will save for future trading!) and most importantly great beer.

I would have had it over a week ago, but due to work schedules and vacation it took me an extra few days to get it from FedEx.

Anyways, so far so good... I'd recommend Fred and Beverage4Less.

    The bounty!:

People have been actually busted for this?... I'm not trying to be a prick about it, just asking a serious question.

EDIT: Clearly the box was 21+ to accept... so it's not like I am underage.
