I don't remember when, but I tried Furious, and actually didn't care for it. Later on it grew on me as I grew a taste to hoppier beers. I won't say no to a Furious nowadays, but I prefer Overrated and Todd to it.

After moving to NW WI, in 2012, I took a ride up to Duluth to check out the city for the first time. I made a stop at Warehouse Liquor (RIP) and picked up a 4 pack of fresh Abrasive. Been a fan ever since. I was so glad they when began distribution here. It's nice being able to find Furious on tap when all the other lines are dedicated to BMC at most places in the area.

First time- Fall of 2016. Pulling in on a Thursday evening I was blown away how there were hundreds of cars and no available parking spaces. It was like going to Wal-mart, although to be correct to the region I should say a Target parking lot. Upon walking into the courtyard before the entrance, I thought I was at a hipster fire pit or had woken up in LA during a major cold snap. Going inside the place was a veritable hive of activity. It looked like a science museum with the lighting and fermenters. It had the feel of a transit station with all the hustle and bustle with wall to wall people. People everywhere. An hour wait for a table unless I wanted to do the tasting menu upstairs. Pass. Used to the hour wait at FFF, I took the plastic pager they handed me to wait for a table which made me feel like I was at Chilis. Asked if I could go to the bar to grab a beer and as luck would have it someone got up as we ordered and we promptly took their seats. Ordered food, it was excellent. Loved that you could get smaller size beers, however the beer was disappointing. Lot of stuff that is in normal distro in Illinois and the one-offs weren't very good. I'd go back for the food, but not the beer. I hope my smaller local haunts don't blow up like this and get the Applebees like atmosphere.

Moved to MN about four years ago from Ohio. Have been drinking IPAs since 2005, and was loving White Rajah and Headhunter in Ohio. One of the first things I did when moving to MN was buy some Furious. It was a let down. Abrasive and Todd are very good however.

Sometime in the summer of 2006 at the Blue Nile, that first pint of Furious was magical.

My first Surly experience was in 2008 at my brother in laws guys weekend. This was 2 years after I had open heart surgery and no drinking. Prior to that only drank bmc and beam/diets...Her brother and friends are all older and had been in the craft beer scene for a while. They told me to try a Furious and the taste of Christmas got me hooked. Never had I tried anything like that and since that weekend beer has been a huge hobby of mine. Wish I could experience that again! Merry Christmas everyone.

What you say "Nicolette" are you referring to the town south of the cities, Nicolett? or the road

    Beer bong'd a Darkness bottle.

I did a tour a while back (8-9 years maybe?) when Omar and his dad were often giving the tours. His dad mostly smiled and drank. It was a good time. I remember liking Cynic the best (man was I stupid).

Green Mill off Hamlin in St Paul I think in 2006. Went there for wings after moving all day and had Furious on tap. One of my buddies had it before and rest of us got hooked. Feels like a lifetime ago.

Cynic is actually a very nice beer. It's balanced and mellow and not at all aggressive, but it is delicious for the style.

Ditto. I know it was Furious, though. And I'm pretty sure I was blown away.

In college, I had my first Summit EPA and thought "Wow that's bitter!"

Then I had Furious and lost my bowels.

Fast forward to 2015, and you'll find me marrying my wife at the destination brewery.

And today I'm picketing outside of the brewery... surly as hell.

2007 city pages beer festival at calhoun square (at least im pretty sure that was the year, could have been '08) had bender and furious. I liked bender much more but later on discovered cynic. Had my first darkness in 2009 and went to my first darkness day in 2010 those were much more life altering experiences. Probably sacreligious to say but ive never been the biggest furious fan but i recall having a growler of '16 grit'? That was amazing.

    16 grit was renamed abrasive.

After a physics final spring semester at the U. Wandered down to Stubs with classmates for a beer to celebrate wrapping up the semester. Had turned 21 earlier that school year and was just getting into beer, that first pint of Furious was something special.
