This weekend I am going to be spending four days in Charlotte visiting family. We are going to be staying on the north-west side of town near The Legends golf course. Looks like we are about four or five miles from the Flying Saucer Drought Emporium. Any where else worth checking out? What about beers that are available only in the state? Thanks.
You are going at a good time. The end of Charlotte's craft beer week is going on. Here is a link to the events: http://charlottecraftbeerweek.org/eventlist/
I would skip the Flying Saucer and go to Duckworth's on Park Road. If you want to buy some bottles while there, Brawley's is across the street and Total Wine essentially shares a parking lot with Duckworths. It will be a much longer haul, but it would be worth it, IMO. EDIT: Just to be clear, I was not saying to pass on the special even at Flying Saucer, but if I was picking a place to go on any random day, I would go to Duckworth's.
Thanks guys, we won't be getting into town until 5pm on Saturday and we are leaving Tuesday morning. I am going to have my wife and son with me not sure I will take them to the saucer on Saturday.
The suacer has a room in the back that is kid friendly, has a decent amount of tvs and is not anywhere near the bar.
