This weekend I am going to be spending four days in Charlotte visiting family. We are going to be staying on the north-west side of town near The Legends golf course. Looks like we are about four or five miles from the Flying Saucer Drought Emporium. Any where else worth checking out? What about beers that are available only in the state? Thanks.

I would skip the Flying Saucer and go to Duckworth's on Park Road. If you want to buy some bottles while there, Brawley's is across the street and Total Wine essentially shares a parking lot with Duckworths.

It will be a much longer haul, but it would be worth it, IMO.

EDIT: Just to be clear, I was not saying to pass on the special even at Flying Saucer, but if I was picking a place to go on any random day, I would go to Duckworth's.

The suacer has a room in the back that is kid friendly, has a decent amount of tvs and is not anywhere near the bar.

Speaking of Brown Goat, did any bottles of this make it down here?

I don't think so...I didn't think the bottles were sold outside of the brewery...
