head to the Hopleaf, Northdown or Fountainhead. You will find many things there and only there. Or just go to the Revolution Brewpub and try their stuff.

Well 2 places to check out for sure are the Revolution and Half Acre brewery tap rooms. There are tons of other great places to go for beers, but the top list of specific things to try I would suggest are:

    Revolution Anti Hero
Any of the Revolution Hero varieties (galaxy hero, that sort of thing)
    Half Acre daisy cutter
Can get these 3 almost anywhere - a lot of bars will have them on tap, and you can get them at almost any decent store

If you are looking for harder to find things, try and hunt down somewhere with three floyds on tap.
    Look for:
    Zombie Dust
    Alpha King
    Gumball Head
    Dreadnaught

Beermenus and taphunter are good sites to track down who has things on tap

Also you could check out Off Color Brewing and Pipeworks for smaller breweries that are doing interesting stuff

We've got Revolution, Pipeworks and Half Acre for starters. Google 'em. If you have time drive down to Three Floyd's in Munster. Wait in line for a seat, then order some tacos and start drinking! If you are looking to take bottles home with you swing over to Binny's Lincoln Park store.

Hopleaf is a good call, they often have Zombie dust on tap
Local Option also often has Zombie Dust and Pipeworks on tap

Don't forget beers from Pipeworks and Spiteful.

Stores to check out are Binny's Lincoln Park and W. Lakeview Liquors. Awesome selections.

First time posting! You should definitely stop by the Revolution brewpub for dinner and beers. Pipeworks is also great.

If you end up near Naperville, Solemn Oath is the best local brewery you can find. If not, you can find their bombers at Binny's.

Enjoy your stay with our horrible weather!!

If you get to Half Acre, get their Space IPA. It's fantastic.

Stop in Local Option if you are in the city. Usually some great FFF, Pipeworks and their own stuff on draft.

Not knowing what you like, I'm just giving you a list of the breweries listed on this site. So,this oughta get you started. Note the ones with bar next to them, belly up and enjoy.
If you want the stuff that you can't anyplace else. About the only breweries I can think of that distribute out of the state are Finch's, Lagunitas, Two Brothers, Off Color, and Goose Island.

If you are going to 1/2 Acre or Fountainhead try the Bad Apple which is almost across the street from 1/2 acre. I was there a few weeks ago and they had Bruery, Surly, Spitfall, Lake Effect, Ten Ninty, and Pipeworks all on tap. Just recently at Fountainhead they had Surly Darkness, FIS, and Perennial Abraxas on tap among others. Basically this area is the mecca of good beer in Chicago. "Beermenus" is a good way to look up to see who has what if you are looking for certain beers.
