Hi Everyone, I"m heading out to Indianapolis for the first time tomorrow to interview for a new position. I'll have some free time in town and would love to get some locals' suggestions on places to hit things to see and do. Look forward to getting some great tips. Thanks in advance. Jay
Agree completely on The Brugge. Sun King is tapping Ring of Dingle tomorrow and should still have some Isis and Grapefruit Jungle around. You also could try Twenty Tap which is near Broad Ripple. They are tapping 6 beers from 3 Floyds tomorrow. Enjoy!
Brugge and Twenty Tap are great places to hit if you can make it to Broad Ripple. Also, Chumley's in Broad Ripple has a good selection of beers, and there is also the Broad Ripple Brew Pub that has its own beers. I would say go to Brugge, though. Their Tripel is one of my favorite expressions of the style, and who doesn't love french fries with 15 different dipping sauces?
Flat 12 and Twenty Tap are the two places I'm most often found. Rumor is one of the FFF beers being tapped at Twenty Tap tomorrow is Zombie Dust. Tends to go pretty fast. I'll be there!
My first day posting here and this is the type of news I find. Glorious. The wife and I will be there tomorrow too, hopefully for dinner as well. I am really hoping for Zombie Dust. I've yet to taste that deliciousness (sorry for the minor threadjack).
Well if you end up in Broad Ripple, may as well hit the Upland tasting room to see what they have...it's a bit south on College.
I believe this website can be a valuable resource. http://www.hoosierbeergeek.blogspot.com/p/where-to-drink-in-indianapolis.html
I'd say it really depends where you'll be and how long you'll be around. Where is the interview? Where are you coming from, will you be leaving right after, etc. Totally check out the HBG link that mikeat posted. But also check hours of places.
