Brewing a WC IPA and plan to use some hop extract at 60 min. I’ve heard this stuff is tough to dissolve. I’ve even heard people using Everclear liquor to dissolve it.

any tips or any experience using it?

    below is the product:

I've used hop extract for bittering almost exclusively for over 5 years and have never had an issue with dissolving. What will happen is it will "bead up" initially on the surface. If you are skimming hot break it's likely to be mixed in and your bitterness will suffer. I just do a thorough skimming before adding the extract . . . then don't touch anything for at least 15 minutes. By then it should be fully dissolved.

Oh yeah, take it out of the freezer at least 30 minutes before use and whatever you do, never attempt to taste it :weary: .

I used it in a commercial beer a few years ago. It does bead up at first, but it dissolved just fine. My biggest concern was matching the level of bitterness as I had with the (pellet hopped) homebrew recipe I had scaled up for this beer.

Awesome! Thanks. I’ve been hesitant to use it because I’ve heard it’s hard dissolve and sticks to the sides of the kettle.
