Of course. I can swing by today and pick some up for you.

I'll send you the receipt and you just pay me for what it cost me and shipping.

PM me your number and I can pick this up after work today. I see no reason why they'd be out of abyss.

Don't know what happened to my last post but came here to say this:

I had my first Abyss -- a 2012 -- on Thanksgiving, and I would have to agree with everything you said. I thought I was the only one LOL... On the other hand, opened a F-W 17th Anniversary on Christmas, and thoroughly enjoyed it!

I live in Des Moines. You have a much better chance of getting TG beers in Wisconsin.

    Does this beer "fall off?"

I have a couple 10,11,12,13 verticals. And want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

    Thanks

Ditto. If this is a standing offer, I'd love to grab some via trade or otherwise. Let me know, BA bro!

As you can tell by my avatar pic, I am a big fan of Abyss. It is probably the only beer I search out for. I usually end up buying a case a year. Now if I could only find a bottle of 06. That's the one year I have yet to try. Would love to do a complete vertical tasting

yeah... so the only Abyss I enjoyed was 2010 vintage. I didn't like 2012, 2011, or 2007. 2007 probably wouldn't have been good about 3-4 years ago.

Count me among the minority of "not blown away" people. The Abyss wasn't worth the hype to me at all. It was good, but there are many other stouts I'd take first, some much more readily available. It's all subjective, and to each their own.

On another note, I loved the 2012 Black Butte, but the 2013 wasn't as good IMHO. I think my tastes are just getting broader instead of the brewery declining or anything like that, though.

I have one, waiting to open it though. It says drink after on the bottle so Ill follow the brewery's directions.

I had some a few years ago, still do not get the hype. It is no better than any other Imp stout to me. There I go not following the crowd and saying something mean again. Poor old beer, me does not love it so much as others do....
    LOL

its just a beer. a 4 or so to me. nothing more.

Still I get it, I could start a I love Orval thread everyday and maybe I used to do that before the BA web site crash, one will never know, lol:grimacing::rolling_eyes::grinning:

    cheers.

    jokes.:grinning:

I think it's called having different tastes on what constitutes a good RIS. You know... the way some people love the way liver tastes, while others hate it.

For whatever reason, the flavor profile of the Aybss doesn't appeal to you. I know plenty of people who feel the same way about Dark Lord, KBS, Kate the Great, etc. With regard to the Abyss, that doesn't mean there's something wrong with those who think it's a great beer, or anything wrong with you because you think it's a "mehhhh" beer. All it means is that your taste in RIS is different from those who think it's a great beer (it's not a referendum on your character, as your post seems to imply). No more, no less. Cheers!

Haven't had it yet as it's not available in FL, least not that I know, but will be one I look for when I move to AZ this year. I feel like a kid waiting for his birthday.

Look its never serious its just my opinion. I was NOT attacking ANYONE, In fact I was making FUN of myself for raving about Orval at times. geez man lighten up.

where did i rag on this beer?, other than have a little fun about beer cheer leading....

ok back to football and my beer as this is silly.

Sorry man. Chalk this up to my total inability to read sarcasm or humor on the internet.

That being said, I didn't realize my post came across as so heavy handed, but I guess it must have. I'd been reading over this thread (and others like it), and there are soooooooo many posts that read "I don't think this beer is anything special,; what's all the fuss about," or "how can anyone think this beer is special? I know what special is, and this aini't it," that it was starting to get on my last nerve (which lead to my comment/response). Mea culpa... my comment did come across as kind of snarky. (walks off slowly to the fridge for another bottle of blue dot.... mumbling and grumbling.... mumbling and grumbling....)
