    Hey guys,

I am heading out to Deer Valley (flying into Salt Lake City and will have a rental car with me) for the first time from Florida for some skiing. I wanted to know any suggestions of bars/breweries that we need to stop at and the best stores to grab some bottles so I can pack them for the trip back to Florida.

We won't have much time in Salt Lake City, so this might to exclusive to the Deer Valley area - any information some locals have or people who have done this trip before would be fantastic!

I saw from a basic search on BA that Wasatch Brewery Brewpub is in the area, but the rest of the breweries (Epic, Red Rock, Uinta, etc) are all in Salt Lake City. Maybe we will be able to hit those on the way to the airport our last day in town.

    Thanks again. Cheers!

Besides Wasatch, there are a couple of satellite brewpub locations. RedRock Brewing has a place just off the I-80 at the park City exit. And Squatters has a place on the edge of downtown Park City. The No Name Saloon has a pretty good beer selection as well.

Depending on when you go to Wasatch, they might have bottles of Fifth Element kicking around...it's a delicious sour farmhouse ale that's a special release from the Squatters/Wasatch brand. But most of the breweries are in SLC, I wouldn't say Park City is a very beer-centric town in general. There's a DABC (state-run liquor store) off I-80 by the outlets that had a decent selection the last time we were up there, but you'll find that the distribution is pretty limited (although improving). You should be able to find Deschutes, Firestone and Boulevard at least. I would recommend hitting up the High West Distillery if you like whiskey at all. Excellent food, great handcrafted whiskey, and you can buy bottles to go at the merchandise store. Enjoy your trip!
