I am thinking of starting to age beer. I live on the east cost / great lakes area. Does anyone have recommendations of what beer I should start with?

Grab a few bottles and try it fresh and then with age on it

This is my favorite beer to age to date. I think its at its best between 1 and 2 years.

Weyerbacher has a "Big Beer" variety case that consists of six packs of Blithering Idiot, Old Heathen, Merry Monks, and their double IPA. Drink all six of the IPA fresh. Then cellar as much of the remaining 18 beers as you like.

It's a great cellar starter kit. You'll have a Belgian, a barleywine, and a stout aging away as you sip on your double IPA.
