I am sending Heady Topper which needs to stay better than room temp. Any advice is appreciated.

That's why Heady is the one beer you're not supposed to trade. As soon as it hits 64 degrees, it's skunks and is no longer drinkable. Go get at least a dozen cold packs and surround the beer with them. It'll only cost you an extra $20 to ship it this way, but it'll be worth it to not ruin the beer forever.

Or you could just ship the beer, because it'll be totally fine.

In all seriousness, there's no way to keep your beer cold during shipping without dropping loot on a battery-powered compact glycol cooling unit. Seriously. The beers will warm up eventually no matter how many ice packs you put in there. Well, I guess you could pack it in dry ice and overnight it.

I've received and shipped Heady, but it's always been like any other trade, in a box with no effort to keep them cool. As long as they are fresh, I think it's an implicit understanding that is how they'll be shipped.

You haven't completed a trade. Both parties have not received their beer.

However, at this juncture, you shouldn't worry about keeping them cold. They'll be fine.

I have never had any expectations of receiving any beer cold, HT included. First time hearing the need to ship HT cold also.
