I'm from San Diego and am going to be visiting Dallas for the first time in a couple of weeks and was hoping to get some tips on the beer scene. From what I understand it's not a huge beer city, but are there any must hit beer bars or breweries? Do the breweries there have tasting rooms? Thanks, Doug

Judging by Google Maps my buddy lives in East Dallas/Junius Heights. I will have a car though and should be able to travel.
Strangeways, Goodfriend, and Union Bear are the closest good bars. Find a way to go to Common Table or Meddlesome Moth if you can though.
