    Hey all,

A little last minute, but heading to NYC for a few nights tomorrow, for the first time ever. Staying at the Brooklyn Bridge Marriott, going to try to squeeze a lot of the big things in (9/11 memorial, Central Park, Time Square, Museum of Art, etc) but I'd like to hear any beer-related recommendations, or any ideas whatsoever!

Pretty excited and a little overwhelmed. Thanks for any help!

There's a ton of info in other threads - just do a search. Bars are not in short supply.

If you want to catch a drink not too far from your hotel, there's Downtown Bar & Grill, Waterfront Ale House, and 61 Local (this last one is not really a bar, but it's perfect if you want to start your morning with a local draught).

If you want to shop for bottles, take the F subway train at Jay St to 2nd Ave in Manhattan and hit the special Whole Foods beer room, New Beer, and Top Hops.

Places that serve cask beer shouldn't be allowed to close.

Really? Not surprised. Last time I was there their tap list sucked. Usually had good stuff. What's gonna happen to all the aged stuff they have?

Really? Anyone know why? Must have been recent - I was there only a few weeks ago.

Not my favourite spot by any means and some of the pricing was a bit crazy - but it had it's moments. Last time I was there the bartender gave us a very fresh bottle of Zombie Dust.

I heard it's fairly pricey but one of the places I'd like to check out in NYC, someday, is Eataly.

    Bierkraft.

Also, NYC's greatest unspoken secret: all the amazing beer that's neglected in silly corner mom&pop stores (I found two 6 packs of Hopslam in one of these.)
