Planning to go to Russian River this Saturday for my birthday. This will be my first time there. Any tips for a plan of attack. I will NOT be driving so should be able to consume a fair amount of liquid. I also would like to buy some bottles to bring back ... are there any limits on how much Pliny to buy, etc.

Any help will be much appreciated!

Pliny is 12 bottles a person. Bling pig is 6 bottles. I would check their website to see what they have around the time you'll be there. Other than that, enjoy.

Get there when they open. The place fills up fast and you will be stuck waiting in line for a table

Do the sampler!!! Freaking greatest tasting flight ever ... there's like 20 tasters (all the beers they have available that day on tap) all piled on/around a cool wooden board - it really is a work of art and a total bargain (think it's like $15-$17ish). Since you are not driving, this should be no problem to consume.

Seconded, but request them on a flat pan. They come out crispier on the bottom. And get a side of ranch.

I was there 3 Saturdays ago. Yeah, get there about 20 min before they open, there will already be a line and they let people in in single parties, about 5 minutes between parties. I think they do this so that the whole place doesn't become insta-packed and everyone is waiting to get an order in. Once you get a table, it goes pretty smooth.

Order everything on the board, wings, pizza, and save room for supplication or consecration for dessert ;D

Depending on where you are coming from, traffic into Petaluma can be terrible because of construction. It might be worthwhile to leave a bit earlier so you can arrive at Russian River in time to score a table. Saturday can to very busy.

    Happy early B-day .

If you have room afterwards, head down the street to the Italian Bistro to drink as much Moonlight as you can.

But seriously drink as much Hopfather and Dribble Belt as possible

Where is this Hopfather you speak of?

Backing up what everyone says about Pliny Bites. Order the Hot Sauce.

Hopfather is a beer Russian River makes. Moonlight makes Reality Czeck, Death and Taxes and other beers, but those are their two best

As you have read in the posts above......... Get there early, before they open.

Also like @AlexM mentioned, their sampler is very cool, 20 tastes for $17 served in a great wooden paddle

Thanks for all the useful information folks. Plan to be there around 10:45 tomorrow to beat the crowd. Looking forward to the sampler and taking with me some Plinys and other delicious liquids!

I am familiar with this beer. Have had it on many occasion. I do not see it on the current draft list at RR.
