Going to restaurants where their "giant craft beer selection" doesn't go much further than Shock Top, Guiness, SN, and Stella....

And like daysinthewake said, once you drink your excellent beer, you don't have it anymore!

Not really a "problem," but I think lack of beer knowledge gets annoying sometimes. Like I was just reading this post on facebook where a friend was talking about how fantastic this fruit beer (ruby red, I believe) from Shiner Bock was, and then a friend of hers chimed in, asked where to get it, and added that he's "a bit of a beer nerd." He went on to say that he actually had a beer one time that was 10% (!) if she could even believe that.

    :astonished:

I just got done hitting my face with my palm, so I thought I'd come on here and share.

Oh and I love when Sam Adams is listed under "imports" on the menu.

I am fucking irate that Toppling Goliath only delivers their beers to Des Moines every 2 weeks. That is just not acceptable.

I get super annoyed when people get so excited about "hunting limited releases" that they buy up all the seasonals like they are only being sold for one day. Hey dumbass, they will bring more next week!

going to a restaurant, asking about the draft selections (as the menu instructs) and having the waitress look at me sort of funny and then reply with "oh, we have pretty much whatever you'd want." as an answer.

    No. You don't.

Sorry... this wound is kind of fresh.

I love the "sort of" joking part of this. RANDALL THAT MUTHER! Just make sure you get the exact right kind and proportions of hops. :grinning:

When I NEVER EVER win money on the free spin from LetsPour.

When I have to ask for a glass to go with my craft beer at a nice restaurant. They give out a plastic "glass" for single-serve wine bottles on planes, I think your $30-a-plate restaurant can cover a dishwasher having to wash one more pint glass for my $8 beer.

Riffing on what some others have said, the fact that so many places in the U.S. believe that import = craft. I always like to picture some place in Belgium having Budweiser and Cantillon under the same category on the menu, because the Bud is an import and the 'Loon is a "craft" beer.

When people who are largely indifferent about good beer make a limited release hard to get because it has some tie-in to a popular subject that's unrelated to beer. Read as: Boulevard Chocolate Ale getting purchased by all the Christopher Elbow fanboys or Ommegang Iron Throne getting bought up by all the Game of Thrones fanboys. Disclaimer: I am one of the GOT fanboys and managed to murder a few people--Westerosi Style--to get a couple bottles.

Usually that means higher ABV beer, meaning, you got more beer because it wasn't served in a 10 oz glass. Snob :stuck_out_tongue:
