This was the first year I finally caught some whales or semi-whales.

I'd been wanting to try Hauenstein ever since a post by @The-Adjunct-Hippie touting this as "the best beer to pair with a burger." I was finally able to track it down, courtesy of a co-worker who frequently travels to the Twin Cities. It did not disappoint. (Dang it, now I wanna go fire up the grill. At midnight. In December.:grimacing:)

In the last 6 weeks or so, I've gotten either to try or obtain a bottle of the following:

Rare 10 and 15 (did a side by side, 10 took a big steamy shit all over 15 and it wasn't even close)
    Fou Foune (exceptional)
    West Ashley (horribly overrated)
DB Huna (had it previously at a share but got a bottle of it in a trade)
Beatification (very, very sour and surprisingly one-note imo)
Puga Royale (got a bottle with the DBH...huge want of mine)

Only stumbled across one true Whale in all my hunting, the first year CBS was bottled. I've come across some great beers though, Double Sunshine, most of the HF hoppy beers, most of what comes from NE area at one time or another. Some great out of area stouts too. Some are harder to get than others, but most you can get if you find the right trading partner.
