I recently brewed an IPA and bottled using the Fizz drops. After 2.5 weeks I still don't have carbonation. Has anyone used these before and if so how long does the bottle conditioning normally take? Any help would be greatlying appreciated....Cheers!

At what temperature have the bottles been kept? And are you sure the bottles are properly capped?

Also, what product did you use and how many drops did you use?

    Greetings,

Thanks for responding....I used fermenters favorite Fizz drops from Northern Brewer. I have one in each 12 oz bottle stored at 72 degrees. They are capped tightly. I suppose I'll just wait another week and try them then...

I've never used fizz drops before but my Imperial IPA primed with sugar is going on 3 weeks and is still in the process of carbonating (last bottle had some fizz to it). Some beers just take some extra time to get going so try and be patient. I've never had a beer fail to carbonate though some have taken up to 6 weeks.

Thanks for the replies! I used Omega yeast labs west coast ale yeast and fermented at 68-70 degrees.

Is that room temp or fermenter temp?

Internal temps can be 10deg higher than ambient. I have found that carbonation takes longer when ferm temp is higher (for whatever reason)
