Haha, this is what I said when I saw Fizzics on Shark Tank. Someone is going to get it for me because they know I like beer. I certainly do not want one however, and my reasoning is thus:

    1) I can already pour any beer out of a bottle the way I want it. Why do I need another device to do it for me?

    2) It's just another thing that will need to be cleaned after every use.

    3) I do not like kitchen tools that are single-purpose. Takes up a lot of space for something that only has one function (and again, a function that I can perform better myself).

Well I look at this as another marketing gimmick that takes up counter space.
So for $169.00 your beer gets head and I'm supposed to taste the difference...nope
I'm old fashioned the way my beer gets head

They have a Kickstarted campaign up now and if you watch the video it was actually recorded at Demented.

Which by the way, they've gotten over $300k in less than a week already with over a month to go for the campaign

That's for their new Way Tap version, looks like it got way smaller (doesn't fit a 22oz bottle)

Seems to me the casual drinker is the exact target market they have in mind...

This thing is perfect for those afflicted with gadgetosis. Remote control and robot delivery to your Barcalounger could complete the deal. These are the things that are found in attics in 30 years by those downsizing and maybe survivors of the deceased. Most likely will be a popular item at Goodwill. They take almost anything.

Yikes. People will kick start anything. Why not just start a business the old fashion way. Kick starter seems to be full of a bunch of fringe crap seemingly one dimensional one use items these days.

Edit. So these guys have the original product in places like best buy, target, Amazon, and brook stone yet chose to crowd fund like a bunch of starving artists. Talk about gullible consumers. Watch shark tank, get $2 million invested, and still splurge on the crowd fund donation page.

I should add. I have been drinking beer for years and never once felt a draft pour was substantially better than cans. Color me surprised that this is actually a thing. Am I the only one who doesn't necessarily prefer draft over bottles. Breweries have been making great strides over the years with co2 retention and freshness. This whole idea is blowing my mind.

No risk, limited liability, and your financial backers have no recourse if you miss your deadlines. I have to admit it is sheer genius that this process exists

I wonder how much of the parts of this product I will be able to recycle when they start to be brought in to the recycle center I manage by folks who decide they'd prefer not to have a machine that needs cleaning to pour their beer. OTOH it will give me great pleasure to find out.

I saw it on shark tank too. As soon as they started talking, I told my wife that it was a worthless product. Frankly, I was really surprised the sharks seemed to think it made such a difference.

I won't be buying one...hoping like hell I don't get one for Christmas.

Sharks know nothing about beer. I seem to recall another episode that was craft beer related and Cuban said he was a Bud Light guy.

At $169 for one of these, doesn't seem like a casual drinker would spend that kind of money.

Fills no need, solves no problem, and has no likely consumer base to whom it would be of interest. Where do I sign?

Does a growler not get filled right off the keg? The beer in your growler is draft. I cant see a machine getting you closer to a draft beer than a growler does. Maybe I do not understand your post.

I have no idea what this thing does. I open a beer and pour it in a glass or drink it from its vessel. I open a growler and pour it. Spending money or time to attach something to my beer so it can be poured is crazy to me plus the fact I will need to clean it every time I switch beers and every time I use it. Thats funny to me.

If this thing made stouts nitro creamy I would consider it at a much lower price if it was really easy to clean.

For $169 I would rather have 4-5 cases of beer or even splurge and get a case of Russian River or something else in that range.

    Enjoy

Totally one of those devices that makes beer harder to enjoy just by it's nature. Instead of open beer, rinse glass, pour and enjoy; you have to rinse device out, rinse glass out, open device, open beer, put tube in beer and close it, pour beer very carefully, guess at when to "foam" it, likely always leave a bit of beer in the device/glass and then thoroughly rinse/clean device depending on next use. If you love nitro stouts, I could see a case for this device.

I'm sure reg peeps will eat it up, they can all store it beside their 90's bread makers, soda streams, more recent cake pop cookers and other gimmick kitchen devices. The owners are good marketers though!

Yeah - that's true. I was just thinking anybody deep into the sport would not see any value to this, and somebody mentioned the gift route. "Oh...they like beer...this will be perfect".

I imagine they will make money by whatever means, though. I'm going to remain a solid skeptic.

The Fizzics girl came to our store a few months ago and did a demo...I was very skeptical, $170 for a beer dispenser...what a stupid idea. Well, we pulled some light bodied beers a couple of american wheats, a pale ale, summer shandy, etc and did a before and after, and I'll have to say there was a noticeable difference in consistency and mouthfeel after the double secret fizzing mechanism was deployed. No friggin way it's worth that much, I might consider it at half the price (plus I get a 30% discount) if nothing more than to dispense beer from my 64-oz growler

When I dispense from my growlers, I use a growl tap. It uses small CO2 cylinders and keeps the beer fresh even if I don't drink it all in one sitting.

It was a gift but I think the cost is like $40 and it's small, easy to store and easy to use.
