The beer scene in Flagstaff is basically: Dark Sky and Mother Road as far as breweries go (there are a couple others not worth mentioning, imo) and Hops on Birch as a beer bar.
Dark Sky will have sours but not your fruit smoothie style desert nonesense that's popular these days. They typically also have a good selection of IPAs and souts.
Mother Road will probably have a few IPAs and lighter beers on tap (wc and neipa ususally)
If you want any distro then go to Hops on Birch for beer to go. For a larger but less curated selection then try Majestic Marketplace.

Looking for some updates on Flagstaff. Will be there next month and there seems to be a lot of places crammed into a small area. I'm curious what can't be missed.

Yes, Dark Sky - & if yer hungry, Pizzacletta is housed within, I prefer the mushroom (funghi) pie. The Sacred Datura goes well with that pie, but get a tasting rack of 5 oz'ers if so desired. Lumberyard has some good cold brews also. They used to have a Knotty Pine ale which was a fav, outstanding in the winter, but they brew it no more.

Oh another thing - on main drag is The Meadery if you want to switch things up. Some are too fruity but they have a fluid called Unicorn Blood which is more balanced.
