I am too lazy to post the link, but flat earth announced on face book today that they are relocating to building in the old hamm's complex. I really like their Belgianpale ale, and I like brewing returning to the hams brewery, does this excite anyone or will this be greeted with a collective yawn?

Happy for the facility and neighborhood. Didn't they have internal conflict? At least it's a sign of moving forward.

where would you rank flat earth among the other regional breweries? I will give them a weak six out of ten, just barely above average, pretty ok beer, but seldom interesting or inventive. although I didn't really drink anything from them during the time they were struggling with quality control issues.

cyngus is a really good for a porter but everything else is pretty meh. and the bomber-only size distribution doesn't help.

I think your ranking is fair. I thought they came out with some decent beer and had a shot to follow a trajectory similar to Steel Toe, but that hasn't materialized. Maybe the space allows them to evolve as a brewery. Another brewery worth following is Third Street. They got the brewmaster with an impressive résumé and they're trying some different things but haven't separated from the pack like I thought they might when they made their big hire.

This is 90% what I was going to say. Cygnus is great, but that's about all the feelings I can put into them.
