Sagá is every bit as good as Size 7.

Frankly I think it is bertter. Didn't really like Size 7, but I don't care for Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Torpedo either, I think there is a strain of hops I just don't really care for.

I couldn't disagree more. I like Saga, it's a dandy beer from a good company. But Size 7 is outstanding, dripping with fresh mango and melon flavors, no harsh bitterness or grainy tannins, just a light caramel body covered in tropical fruit and grapefruit rind.

Shit, looks like I gotta go buy a pint tonight.

Saga is hands down the best beer for the money in this state, and much better than many IPA's out there. But Size 7 is the best IPA brewed in the state (all my opinion, of course).

I'll have to breakdown a buy a bomber of Size 7- havent bought one since right after they came out. I would do a blind test, but I would guess I would be able to tell them apart as I drink a LOT of Saga.

Price aside, I think Saga is one of the best IPA's on the market period.

:grimacing: Will I be struck down if I say Masala Mama isn't even the best IPA brewed by the Hoops brothers? :grinning:

    Oh man, I hate Torpedo.

Torpedo is horrid, and I am not sure if it is the beer or distribution...it just tastes like an old IPA to me, and I don't care enough to decode dates.

Try going to a reputable store that turns over beer, not a museum. Grab a fresh can and give it a whirl. It's a delightful centennial, cascade and Citra beer.

My local store is small, but I have never had a problem with turnover on beers. They don't ever
I remember thinking it wasn't bad right when it was released, but have such a hard time with it now. I thought the cans held the beer up a bit better when they first came out, but still didn't really enjoy it.

I also will admit to purchasing about 80% local beers these days. Between that and homebrewing there is not much more room for anything else.
Sierra Nevada gets my business through the occasional SNPA 12 pack, Narwhal, Celebration and a couple others.
