Any other craft beer out there besides Grand Canyon Brewing here in AZ use this in their bottles?... http://www.theflavorbomb.com/

Grand Canyon uses it in a few of their bottled beers now. Their Bock has one filled with a toasted oak stick. Their Stout has one filled with Sumatra coffee beans and their IPA has one filled with a variety whole hop cones. I have a few bottles of the IPA I picked up earlier this week but I haven't tried them yet.

So, was curious if anyone else has or has noticed any other breweries jumping on this in the bottle trend. Might be something great for home brewing though. Probably could come up with same interesting combinations.

Yep! Guess they had to make sure it "inserts" into the bottle with no problems.

I am not one to "knock-it before I try it" and I am not going to try it so....I'll just be quiet.

Looks gimmicky to me, but could be interesting. It would be nice to try the beer side by side, one with the flavorbomb and one without.

Might be cool for a homebrewer who knows exactly how long the Flavor Bomb has been in there and what it was packed with.

Coffee, hops, and oak can all have negative effects on a beer if left in there for too long, like say if a beer were sitting on a shelf for months.

That makes me want to try all 3 of those Grand Canyon beers now.

Pretty much this. Is it a one time use thing? Im assuming you can fetch it out with like a pen or something long and skinny.. but still, I wonder.

Not much you could put in one of those you could not simply add to the bottle and pour off, with all the same risks (over extracting flavors - too much oak, spice, vegetal matter, nucleation/oxidation, nucleation/explosive carbonation) save the risk you get a hop, coffee bean, spice in your glass. Pass.

Will let you know. Going to try the IPA I have later this week. Can't tell from inside the bottle but it almost looks like its in there for good. Not sure if you would even be able to open it back up if you got it out.
