Just getting ready to bottle this brew. It was a BMC CLone that I used my own homegrown hops to make some sort of hoppy Budweiser thingamajig. Anyway I have been putting off bottling this thing for months. I uncovered it this morning and noticed the top goo never dropped. I just want t make sure this is OK before I spend 2 hours bottling this stuff. Smells fine. See recipe and pics.

3.0 lbs. Light Dried Malt Extract 1.0 lb. Rice Syrup Solids 5.00 oz. Corn Sugar 1.00 oz. Mt. Hood hops, added at the beginning of 45 min boil 1.0 tsp. Irish moss (optional), added 20 min from the end of the boil and a whole bunch of my own hops continuous throughout boil.

Mostly because another Pale Ale recipe I have made a couple times kinda has a crappy taste until it is carbonated then it is excellent. I thought I would give it a chance.

I doubt carbonation is gonna solve something tasting nasty, sometimes the carbonation and bottle time can equalize flavors but nasty is gonna be nasty....

I bet it tastes meaty. @AllHaleTheAle can you describe what's nasty about it?

Take another gravity reading in a few days just to make sure it is done.... But like the others asked, how long has it been since you pitched yeast?
