Hello everyone, As part of my education/work experience, I will be living in Miami for one month in October (yeah, it s in a while) and I am planning on organizing a small beer trip during one of my week ends. I mainly want to visit the "must" in Florida such as Cigar City, Funky Buddha, Cycle brewing and Angry Chair but I would also be interested by your local tips and by any recommendations for beer shops/bars in Miami. I ll be working at the Miami Tower so if you know anything in this area, that would be awesome! The main brewery I found in Miami is J Wakefield, they seem to be famous for their Berliner Weisse. Do you know if they have a page where they announce release and if they have guest beers on tap at their pub? I know it is pretty early to organize this trip but as I am an adventurous European in the US without a driving licence , I ll probably have to take the plane ( or the train?) . Therefore, I want to set it as soon as I can If I manage to get any nice release from Cantillon, 3F or others before I leave, I ld be more than happy to trade with any of you! Thank you a lot for your information. I am really excited about going to the US as I haven't been there for the last 7 years
Hey Bud, do a quick search in this forum and you will find a lot of answers to your questions, just from the last month or so. Cycle, Cigar City and Angry Chair are all 4+ hours from you by car. The main Miami breweries right now are J Wakefield, Wynwood, Concrete Beach, MIA and a few others. Check their Facebook pages, they all keep them updated. If you end up bringing any Cantillon or 3F, message me and we'll set something up for sure! Cheers
Good luck with your studies! If you choose to drive north out of the Miami area, you may find this thread helpful. Cheers
Thank you all for your answers! @JD_Bogerdy I will keep in touch with you and inform you about what I managed to get @MHorridge As I don't have a car (nor a driving licence), I ll probably take the train to get there. It looks like they have great breweries and bars over there. Thanks for the info.
I went to Wynwood, small but loved it! Wish they would bottle and distribute more of their beers. Was right next to MIA but didn't end up going, will next time (I'm in Orlando). Went to funky Buddha on the way home, their place is awesome. I love MIA beers though and buy them all the time at my local total wine! Fresh Jai Alai is also hard to beat.
