Not sure if it's the Brussels air messing with my brain, but I wondered what everyone here does with beer when a fly lands in it? Personally, I am not in any way afraid of germs so I just carry on drinking but I have germaphobe friends who would drain pour the beer the second the fly landed in it. Thoughts?

I wouldn't worry too much about the fly, it shouldn't drink too much

This is possibly the dumbest thread I've seen on BA

I'm a guy who will pull a hair out of my dinner at a restaraunt and continue eating, so a fly wouldn't bother me in the least. If you're drinking out of a glass outdoors in the summer, it's pretty routine to have to fish out the ocassional gnat. There are much more hazardous things to worry about compared to an insect touching your alcohol.

Top 3 three things I would do:
    1. Not care
    2. Drink the beer
    3. Not care
    4. ***BONUS*** Not create a thread about it

Actuality, I think BA should have a "Beer Humor" Thread category, This is fun for me and others as well.

I would pour a small amount into the bottlecap and coerce the fly into his new personal beer jacuzzi where he can get hammered all on his own.

If the beer is strong enough, it could be like a Mezcal worm

I once opened my fermentation bucket to find a (small) dead bug floating on top. I feared I'd just cracked the lid to 5 gallons of plague juice, but there were no signs of infection. Tasted great. I never told anyone who drank any, and they're all still alive. Stands to reason a fresh bug might not be much of a worry.

Morrissey is more worried about the fly than your beer.

Ask the fly if he or she is on Untappd.
