I'll be bringing some beer to trade along with me in the plane. My initial plan was to fly with a small amount (4 12 oz bottles) in bubble wrap in my bag as I've done before. But the trade was expanded and it may be a bigger amount of beer than I'd be comfortable bringing back in my bag. Wondering how shippers on a plane work, and if I can do it as a carry-on or if that's breaking the 4oz liquid rule? Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Cheers!
    Tom

You'll need to check the bag and it must be less than 50lbs. Get a luggage scale.

I guess 8 12 oz bottles would go into a bag comfortably. I'll just wrap them with a daiper, then bubble wrap then a zip lock and pray for no breaks. If anyone has experience with carry-on shipper boxes let me know. Still interested if this is a possibility.

I dont think there is any possibility of carrying on any alcohol other than those little liquor bottles, but i could be wrong

I brought back two cases of Kbs and some bombers from Texas to Miami, I just bought a duffle bag, put a thick jacket on the bottom, individually wrapped each beer in bubble wrap in the same box the case came in, packed it with towels, then another jacket on top and sides. U could get a case and 2 bombers under 50lbs. However tsa will unpack your luggage and check all the bottles. I've done it 3 times with no breaks, tsa was pretty good about packing it back as they found it. Good luck

No carry on, u have to check it in, make sure your under 50 lbs or it's gonna cost a pretty penny.

Pack it and wrap it the same way if you were packing to trade. I have a back back that is insulated. I wrap beers then put them in back pack with fillers. Then I put back pack in suitcase. Seems like extremely minimal chance of any damage. Of course you must be aware of 50 lb weight limit or cost will go up.

Thanks for the help all! Only other question is anyone ever had cans explode from being in an unpressurized area of an airplane? Or is this not a possibility?

Many threads about this, don't worry about it. Pack your beer well and don't worry.
