Quick question... I've been to Foam a few times but I've never seen prices for 2L growlers or attempted to fill them there. Their website says they will fill growlers of this size. For anyone who has done so, what are the prices like compared to the 750s? Thanks.

I could be wrong but I think someone asked one time and it's proportional to the 750 price. so a $10 750 fill would become something like $25 I think for 2L.

I finally made it up last Saturday. Very nice beers, and a nice setting by the lake. At this point, I don't think anybody can make stuff that is demonstrably better than what is being produced by others in the region, so nothing wowed me. I had a Triple Sunshine the day before that was the most impressive beer of the trip.

Minor thumbs down for having the glass pour line the same as the growler line.

What are some good places to grab lunch at around foam? Going to be stopping there on my way to Waterbury. I thought about the Farmhouse tap and grill, but figure i would get some other opinions. thanks!

Flatbreads and Skinny Pancake are decent options if you're looking for a more affordable choice. Flatbreads is Zero Gravity brewing as well.

A Single Pebble is great, and if you're not a local, the cans of heady they've always got make for a nice little bonus with a delicious meal.

Since no one has posted it....

I was planning on stopping by Foam since I'll coincidentally be in the area that day. If I wanted to come away with bottles, how early do I have to go? Will they still have some of their beers (e.g. Galaxie 500) later in the afternoon? It's their One Year Anniversary celebration that day, so I think it will be even crazier than when I went.

    Thanks!

On a "typical" Thursday or Friday afternoon, is Foam mobbed these days? I was last up in September when they were in their "infancy" and it was super mellow at say 3 PM. I think we were there on a Thursday or Friday, I forget. I know it has only gotten more popular so wanted to check. We are pretty flexible on timing from say open to 5. Just we are not crowded beer drinking type. Thanks!

Doesn't really answer your question, but I was there last Saturday early afternoon and it was mellow. (1:30-around 4)

Was beautiful day, so many of the outdoor tables were filled, but plenty of space inside and no hassle getting pours and growlers filled.

    There was live music inside.

I can only really speak for Thursday, it is not mobbed at all. Last few Thursday's I've been during those times it is at most 20 people inside and out. Was there today at 2:30 and there were 0 people inside and about 15 people outside (beautiful day). No wait for growlers or pours.

    Me, I loved Son Volt!

Northern Culture was a bomb out, not a true kvass, though sour heads might like that beer.

Quasi (golden sour), Son Volt (delicious kellerbier lager) and whatever DIPA (built to spill?) they have on now makes it more than worth your trip.

I got a growler fill of Experimental Jet Set and it was filled with Quasi by accident. No complaints  Stellar!
