I have 6' of 3/16 line. I'm going to wait to do any more changes with a new keg. I'm getting an ok pour now, just slow...thank you guys! I will update you once i get the maduro brown.

Do yourself a favor, when you switch the kegs take that thing out and put a proper tail piece in there.

Got any photos of what it should be? I got that from the homebrew place here in town. Also wouldn't I see beer coming out of there if it had some air going in?

It could just be aggravating the flow and knocking the CO2 out of solution. It should be a standard barbed tailpiece (goggle it, it is common) and a plain nut with a washer.

gonna pour a beer now. I had one like that before and it did the same thing LOL. I replaced the line w/ a brand new one and all new fittings...I'll see how it goes on the new keg. I'll let you know Doug. Foam does suck!

hey guys...got the new maduro 1/6 keg...if it cools down and still foams like the other keg I'm thinking of getting all new sanke coupler, washers and end piece. Any way to tell if sanke coupler is bad?

I'd have a hard time evaluating the coupler with that funky thing on top of it. Put it back the way it is supposed to be and it can be evaluated by watching the beer flow as it comes out of the coupler. Do you know the v/v for the new keg? You'll need that to get in the ball park.

As a frame of reference I put a new keg on Tuesday night, had two foamy beers in the first hour immediately after taking it out of the car, and when I went back to it after maybe 2 hours it was fine and has been ever since. From the store it should come to you chilled and and be balanced so except for the transport shake up it should be fine right out of the gate. It is the changes you try to make to it that take days to settle in.

I actually got it at a local store. I let the keg sit over night and cool down / settle / whatever. I just poured a beer and no foam. My psi is a bit low at 9psi, but Iit's not foaming...I'll raise it a little to see how it reacts but good so far.

Awesome guys! We have a 100% lift-off. Must have been the keg and/or the extra hardware. Maduro Brown is 38.5 degrees and no foam at 10psi. Thanks Doug! I did order another shank and coupler so possibly keeping both and having 2 - 1/6 kegs on tap...Great discussion and thanks for not giving up DOUG-E-FRESH and others! Happy beer drinking to all!

    Hey Doug...it's me back again.
So I have not touched a thing and all of a sudden it's foaming. Any ideas? I bought new line, new hex's and a new coupler. Should I just ditch everything I had? Let me know your thoughts.
    PSI is at 9
    Temp at 38-39
    Keg in same spot

You are pulling the faucet all the way when you pour correct??

Again, back to the basics.....you need to know the v/v for Maduro, I suspect that 9 is too low. You need to balance, balance, balance. What does the beer line look like after sitting? You should also ditch that hokey coupler if you are still using it. It is unclear from your posts if it is in play or not. Put the longer line on while you are at it.

What does the line look like? Momentary success isn't balance and was likely because it was initially balanced from the brewery and the low psi hadn't had a chance to affect it. Can't stress enough you need the v/v. You seem to be resisting getting the real number, as you did on the last keg. The science of it can't be ignored. 6' is still kind of short.

Where do i get it from? I called the brewer and they couldn't get me anyone that knew at the moment.
