+1. This will be my 5th FoBAB. Tickets have never sold out in even 2 weeks since I have been going.

It's this mindset from the newer people to beer and this hobby that is what is getting really tiresome and I don't see this anywhere but here on BA.. and the general hysteria is perpetrated consistently by a select group of people.. and I imagine a lot of people here that don't post a lot (But I do run into/talk to/consistently see out at events) would agree with this.

Best best is to just start repeatedly refreshing the ticket page now and don't stop until 5:02am Saturday. Only way to be sure.

It is more than just hype, or hysteria. Craft beer is growing very quickly as is the realization of such events. FOBAB and any other major beer event are getting more coverage in news, blogs, twitter etc. I doubt a post here will hype significantly at all.

I am always grateful to find out about such events here which I may have otherwise missed. There seems to be some underlying feeling that if you did not hear about it right away or know to be looking for it, and do not live in the immediate area, you do not deserve to attend. As the public becomes more aware, ticket sales are bound to end more quickly.

It kind of shocks me that BA members would not want other BAs to be aware of such events

If it is then i could see it not selling out that quickly, for other fests people buy them just to sell them

At this point it's hard to separate out the sarcastic from the paranoid but are people seriously speculating that tickets will be sold out within the day? Tickets tend to last a good month or more, and even as recently as last year it was at least a few weeks before the first session sold out (and the remaining session lasted quite a few days after that).

FOBAB, thankfully, is not Dark Lord Day or Extreme Beer Fest. We should all be fine.

I got tickets last year about 2 weeks before the event. Calm down people.

Item #1 in the book -- when especially rare/limited beer is on tap somewhere, please wait until after the keg kicked to tell people about it:

Yeah, I'd say there's a fairly consistent pattern here, though. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Check the link to one of my favorite jegross threads:

Props to you for posting that CBS was on tap at Bad Apple a few months back. That was very cool. That night was so relaxed and enjoyable--zero hysteria...
