Hell, compare it to the BCBS Black Friday thing at GI Clybourn. Isn't that thing like $75 for a tasting of 6 BCBS's and a 2009 bomber?

I believe people are mostly complaining because of the ~$15 in fees per ticket (face is $55). That is a ~27% charge for fees, which is absolutely ridiculous.

Anyone else pissed that the site didn't crash and that everything went smoothly? Seriously, don't they know how to sell tickets for a midwest beer event?

This. Call it the bomber vs. six-pack price framing argument. (i.e. $10 for bomber OK, $32 for six-pack not OK)

I would feel better paying $70 with "no fees" vs. $55 + $15 in fees.

Let's hope this new venue lives up to the price increase then. Personally, I thought the Bridgeport Art Center's Skyline Loft was a fitting venue for FoBAB. I just hope this one isn't oversold and the lines will be longer...

Also, I agree these are top dollar brews worth the price of admission to try. Fun fact: my buddy and I calculated our pours of Utopias to be ~$22.50 each.

11 hours later and still not sold out. Last year there were more people online than tickets available. I'm starting to worry that this is going to be way overcrowded and have insanely long lines for the more popular stuff.
