I wasn't trying to get the old guard imbibe folks riled up. I was just saying for the benefit of others that it seems the process has changed.

Living in another country and being unsure if I would be able to get time off of work and be able to travel to go to the fest, I didn't see much sense in paying $40 to join sooner.

This year you need the Imbibe pre-sale ticket to get in early. The regular session 1 ticket will not get you in early even if you are a member. Makes sense that they do it this way now, but I believe it is also because of how the new venue and ticketmaster are handling the ticketing and entry.

You sure about this? Here's what it says on the redesigned, updated ICBG website:

Cool then. Sad that it undercuts the membership push, but glad johnny-come-latelies won't be crashing the hour

Come say hello during the Saturday early session as the Mrs. and I will be pouring while simultaneously recovering from the Friday session. Looking forward to a fun event.

As soon as I find out where we're assigned I'll pass it along. I'll be the guy in the shirt with the beer.

I'll be that guy as well until the end of the session where I'll probably be wearing my beer and trying to drink my shirt.

Hot shit, I'm a volunteer during that time as well!

I'll attempt to wear something Maine themed (which is my main goal in life) but will probably be rocking something volunteer related. Either way I'm shaved-headed and clean-shaven but very white - I should stick out somewhat easily!

Will definitely stop by with @FINEBEERGUY and our better halves.

I think volunteer assignments are going to be given out at training sessions next week. Anyone going to the Tuesday session at Buckledown?

Before and after the pre sale sold out they mentioned you had to be a member before you purchased pre sale tickets, and only pre-sale tickets would be allowed early entry.

I understand what you're saying. I bought mine on the presale but yet I never saw exactly what it is you are saying. I'm just saying by looking at their website is very misleading. I feel there are going to be some people who bought their memberships in the last month or so that are expecting to get in at five

Yeah, I missed it too. I thought the presale tickets were just a nice benefit and not a bundle with early entry. I see on the benefits page, now, that they have other language:

Does anybody have any suggestions on a hotel? I just got tickets yesterday to FOBAB (Sat night) and I'm trying to find a hotel that's either close to the UIC Forum or one that would have public transportation close. I'm not very familiar with Chicago outside of the west suburbs. I'd like to find something that doesn't break the bank too ($200 or less). Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

You maybe kind of limited as far as under $200 goes. I know back when tix first went on sale they offered a couple hotels with a discounted rate/shuttle service for FOBAB attendees (unfortunately I may have deleted the email), maybe someone else can help you out with that info.... If not I did a quick search on Hotels.com and The Travelodge downtown is nearby for $179/night

Wouldn't a limo back to the burbs be cheaper than a hotel?
