We booked the Chicago Mariott at Medical District/UIC. Very close to the Forum. Offered a FOBAB discount as well.

Did you use a discount code for this or did you just call them and tell them you were attending FOBAB?

Where are you in the West burbs? Just take the Metra to and from. You can get the $7 all you can ride weekend pass. Way cheaper than a hotel, limo or cab.

Depending on what Metra line you have to take some people will have to go into Union Station and either Walk it, cab it or "L" it to the forum. I know we plan on walking from Union Station to UIC, as it's just over a mile to get there.

Correct, the BNSF or the Aurora line is the metra rail that has a stop by UIC. I too will be walking to FOBAB. I thought about taking the L but it is a half mile in the other direction to catch the L so I will be walking directly to the UIC forum

The closest stop to the Forum from the BNSF line is Western Ave and that's about a 2.5 mile walk. You're better off just going into Union Station and walking from there to the Forum.

Ah yes you are correct, there is a stop at Halsted but I did not realize that the train did not make stops at Halsted on the weekends, only M-F

On their website, under the benefits of IMBIBE, early FOBAB admission is the first thing listed. And it really is the only worthwhile benefit. Unless you want to drive to Michigan for a free $5 beer.

I live close enought to Tighthead that I could get 10% off a $50 growler of a mediocre BA American Barleywine...

I will be at the Tuesday meeting. I had a few Buckledown beers at Screw City and was impressed. I'm looking forward to
sample a few on Tuesday, especially Amarillo Clencher. Citra Clencher was good.
I DO have a beard and I WILL be wearing a shirt (pants too).

What is this "volunteer meeting"? I decided last week to volunteer my Friday night, there was no mention of a meeting in the response, even though I was "put down" for that night. Then she cut and pasted the language from the Facebook post setting forth the details (name, #) they needed from each volunteer . . . even though I provided that info in my initial e-mail.

Volunteer training at Revolution on Monday, Buckledown on Tuesday. I think both sessions start at 6 PM.

Does anybody know is there is going to be a coat check? Not a service I've ever needed before, but with Pre-Polar Vortex on the way I might want to wear a bigger coat.

I actually used a link in an email my buddy sent me (he purchased the tickets). The link for the hotel included the discount already
