$70 per ticket is outrageous. I'm choosing not to attend because of the price. It's a bummer because I've gone the past 3 years and I was really looking forward to it.

Thanks for the clarification. The event will likely sell out nonetheless, but the fact that the final price (because of Ticketmaster) is higher than the price of the Great Taste is a bummer.

 

My wait time is less than 14 minutes...

 

Sorry to hear that. Keep trying; I did just to test and got placed in a queue to buy tickets now. There will likely be tickets released from carts as people locking in tickets for friends drop out.

Can also try the mobile app; that reportedly gets some good response times.

WTF It wouldnt let me buy tickets on firefox, but I tried on internet explorer and it worked for me. Whew!

 

Yeah, that's a bummer. Unfortunately, most venues big enough to really host FOBAB well have this same deal with TM. Unless they pull a Beer Hoptacular and move it to the Aragon or something.

 

It's obviously not outrageous, given that it appears to be selling out in less than thirty minutes or so. That makes it seem like tickets are actually priced lower than the real market value.

 

What session did you get? I picked them up for the 3rd because of a conflict earlier in the day.

Also in regards to the price: Yes it isn't cheap, but most of these beers cost $20+ per bottle if you were to buy them and sample. I think the premium to try a bunch of them is well worth it. No one ever said barrel aged beer was cheap.

 

Whats really expensive is drowning your sorrows at a bar when all your pals are at fobab session 3 ;D

The increase in price is more likely related to the venue change. I'm guessing the cost to rent and set up the UIC Forum is larger than the cost of the loft at Bridgeport Art Center.

I got 4 as well for session 1. You just have to buy another set of tickets.
