Is this a challenge?

Would an IMBIBE member who purchased early entry tickets last year weigh in on the specifics of that purchase process? I joined IMBIBE about a month or so ago specifically for the purpose of guaranteeing not only a ticket but early access to the Friday session. I received my membership card but absent account membership information or anything like that included I'm wondering how the purchase process (online, I assume) will work.

You'll get an email with a PayPal link. You send them money. They send you a confirmation email. You show up, and your name is on a will call list.

 

how does the ticketing process work? do you get unlimited samples of the beers or do you get a set amount of tickets for a set amount servings?

 

Set amount of tickets, but you can buy more. Some volunteers "forget" to take tickets. I don't think the GI booth or the ICBG barrel experiment thing ever took tickets.

The tickets are basically a legal formality to comply with IL liquor laws.

 

sweet.. thanks. any idea how much extra tickets cost? i plan on attending both session with the resale, so I can spread the love, but incase I miss something with my predetermined set of tickets

 

I've never known anyone to actually have to buy more tickets. I've never used more that a few each session. Each year they say theyre going to be morr strict on enforcing tickets but it seems to go out the window after an hour into the session. No clue how much extra tickets cost.

 

I think they give you 16 tickets? and then, you can buy additional sheets of 16 for $20? something like that. they used to let you buy individual tickets, but i think last year they made you buy the whole sheet. my memory is a little foggy. i was at the early saturday session last year. seemed like towards the end of the session there were quite a few "unticketed" pours going on.

 

Aside from older volunteers, I don't remember getting tickets taken.

 

Man, I had terrible luck. I had tickets taken at virtually every booth (including GI's).

 

Last year I had an older volunteer dump my sample when I didn't have a ticket, and that was with 45 minutes left. While that was a little extreme, I didn't fault the guy. He was just doing his job.

Most volunteers all for tickets when you get a pour, or tell you to throw it in the bucket.

 

Me too, I ran out last year. Thankfully two of my friends both had around 10 tickets each left and gave me more.

Did everyone just get the ImBIBE email? It says that pre-sale FoBAB tickets now go on sale Friday August 28th @ 10am.. I thought they went on sale this Friday the 21st? Typo?
