I'll second everybody else buy saying you shouldn't drive. But assuming you are in a condition to drive, I've generally been able to park on Morgan Street turning south from Roosevelt. It's a few blocks west from UIC center and an easy walk.

 

Unless something drastic changed and they no longer sponsor the event, you can bet we'll see the same multi-booth setup from last year.

 

I asked today. Confirmed.

 

What time should we plan to line up for the Friday session?

 

It wasn't Friday..but last year, the PM session had a line around the block an hour before doors open. Personally speaking for myself, I think I'll just stroll in about a half hour into the session this year and not freeze standing outside.

 

Nobody should be freezing on Saturday.

You sure about that? In the past week we've had a team break a 108 year old streak and elected the first president without any formal political experience. I would expect not only to freeze, but to dodge bullets from Glock armed Polar Bears that have chosen sides in Chicago's gang wars. Chicago is to borrow a term from FFF "It's not normal."

 

I've always used the UIC parking north of Roosevelt just northwest of the Forum. It's pay to park but a super easy walk. I believe you enter the pay gate off of Morgan.

You are correct on all counts. For other events, it's cost $10 to park. As you said, super easy.

 

Really appreciate all the great comments/contributions to this forum - I'm sure we'll be rubbing elbows this weekend (if you're at the early Saturday session).

Rule of thumb: when rinsing your glass at the rinse stations, drink some water then too.
They will have food for sale, but I'll be the guy with a backpack full of Ritz and pretzels.
